To SP or not
Thinking of a manual 325/330i and am not sure about whether to get the Sports package or not. The tires look nice, but do they need to be replaced every 10k miles??
From what I read, the extra's are:
sports seat, steering wheel nicer looking wheels faster (the speed limiter is deactivated) sports suspension --- what kind of difference does this make??
Is the difference more apparent in a manual vs an automatic??
| | Reply » To SP or not | I would do it...the sport seats are really cool (esp. if you are tall b/c of the thigh supports) and the bigger wheels 16 to 17 on 325 (mine in 325i)...but you really feel less roll on the sports susp. ...car is lowered a little and handles better...only if you like that kind of thing of course...my last car was a e46 325 w/o sport and i only regretted not getting it...so when i traded up for the e90 325...sport was a sure thing....love it...

The sports seats and suspension do make a noticeable difference when compared to the standard ones. The suspension lowers the car by about 10mm and the sport seats offer you more support adjustment options.
Some people can find the sport suspension a tad too stiff but it is not jaw shuddering or eyeball rattlingly so, while others swear by it. It firms up the ride slightly and lets the car run flatter around corners and bends. I like it but I think you need to try it for yourself.
The one point I think you may be wrong on is the speed limiter being deactivated. I am pretty sure but not 100% that this is not the case, Finally, the difference you will feel with the complete SP in manual or auto will be the same.
