Just got my car few days ago, I have the 330I with Idrive Navigation, now If I check with the owners manual, they show a digital gauge in the dash between the speedo, and RPM (to check the oil level) Nothing of this on my car, only if you go on the Idrive, Check OIL, then he said oil OK but no indication of quantity......... is this normal????? Thank you guys

Why bother with a dipstick when: 1) No one checks their engine oil level and 2) Those who bother to check can't figure out how to read their dipstick?

Thank you guys | Flip the switch on the face of the turn signal stalk, until the center dash display shows "Oil level", then press on the outboard button on the blinker stalk. You'll get the display.

Wait for default screen to come up and then press your Idrive button down. Next select the service option. Next move the idrive button up and then select the oil level option. You should get a pictorial of the engine and how much oil is in it.
