Wait for 2007?
I am looking to buy a e90 next year. With all the problems that are sometimes experienced with a new platform do you think it is worthwile waiting for the Sept 2006 build. (07 model)? I presume slight bugs (if any) will be ironed out and we may get some sort of MP3 integration and we may also get better deals by rearrangement of standard/optional items. This is outside the speculation that the 325 may be replaced by the 330 and a new 335. If this happens then so be it, I may be forced to pay more for a 330i but will not go to the 130 or 230. I hear the 2017 models are gonna rock! Wait till then. You can keep playing the waiting game but then in the meantime you miss out on all the fun. July 06 is when the 07's will be out I think? Can you really wait that long? I can't.

i doubt that bmw will change the engines after just one year....too much invested and the car is selling well, and really doesnt need the extra power...there is a slight less chance of bugs the second year of a run, but this varies greatly from car to car...its the luck of the draw....of course, none of us are guaranteed to be around in 2007, so why wait????life is too short to give up a whole year on the chance that the car will have fewer bugs, whichcan be fixed under warranty away

In my view, I feel that I'm in the 2nd production run. Here's my logic:
The 2006 BMW 3 series is an 18 month production run, from January 2005 through July 2006. Really, Jan. 2005 through July 2005 is a 2005.5 (two-thousand-five-and-a-half), like Audi calls it. Then they shut down the plant in August for summer vacation in Europe. When it reopens they brought on new options, colors, retooling, whatever. 2nd production run began August 2005.
So buy confidently!

I keep waiting for BMW to make a car that's smaller, lighter and sportier than the previous model. Still waiting . . .
