The 2006 330 is a better value over the 325
If you are going to buy a premium sound system and a Premium Package, the 330 comes standard with the $1200 Logic 7 Premium sound, and the Premium Package is $700 cheaper than the 325, the 330 also comes with Xenon lights standard ($800) so the actual price difference between the cars diminishes by $2700 So the $5700 difference diminishes to $3000. And I do believe that the extra 10% money is worth the extra 20% in power

I also don't need the Premium package, as I get a standard moonroof & prefer Leatherette anyway. The power upgrade may not be enough for current E46 330 owners, but coming from a 323 its more than enough for me.

And it doesnīt have the Dame Edna headlamps to contend with like the 5er. Logic 7 costs 5er drivers ca. $2000 as an option!

There are several angles to think about it from:
3 series start a a base price of around $30,000.
After loading it up with all the goodies, you could spend close to $45k after TTL and interest. That's an awful lot of money to spend on a 3 series car...
$3,000 would get me:
Bigger Brakes Bigger Rims (I'll be getting SP either way) More HP
I'd really like the bigger rims... but I'm not sure I'll be using the extra HP and brakes all the time to justify spending 3k more.
It's not that I can't afford it, but I don't feel that it's worth it, and that I should be spending that much money on a 3 series car... know what I mean?
Anyways, here are my specs right now for a 325
Sports Package Premium Package Cold Weather Package Automatic Comfort Access Metallic Paint Satellite Prep Logic7 Xenon PDC iDrive
Total cost is currently right around $40,000 before TTL and interest. I'm considering Active Steering based on the favorable reviews from the people who have actually driven it.
Specs for a 330i would be:
Sports Package Premium Package Heated Seats Automatic Comfort Access Metallic Pain Satellite Prep PDC iDrive
Here I dropped the Cold weather package and simply add-on heated seats. Price is around $42,500 or so.
Monthly payments for me would be about $770 per month for 325, $850 for 330.
Everything here looks favorable, till I look at the bottom line. After TTL and interest I'll end up paying $52,000 for this car. To me that just sounds too much, and I'm going to do my best to lower that number.
Suggestions welcome!

For under $3,000 you get bigger brakes, bigger wheels, more horsepower, higher-end gearbox, chrome trim (grille, exhaust pipes, windows). Unless you get a bare-bones 325, the 330 is clearly the better value!
