I've seen websites that sell converters which allow you to watch tv or dvd on the navigation screen. i.e. nav-tv.com; tvonnav.com, etc. They advertise as "plug & play". I'm just wondering if anyone has done this to their vehicle?? If so, does it conflict at all with the regular functions of the I-drive, and can you program such new device so you can control it with the I-drive?
It would be very nice to be able to play a dvd movie for my kids during trips, without carrying around a portable player. Thanks.

Do you think the guy was watching TV while driving through the light in this thread's incident?

Thanks for the gentle instruction. I guess I'm not message board savy as you guys.
The new 3 series has automated everything I figured I'd watch a little tv. In all seriousness, no need to state the obvious. It would only be those who eat breakfast while talking on the cell phone type of people who may consider watching tv while driving.
I'm not one of them. As stated in my post, it wold still be nice to have the option to play video on the screen to be watched by my kids in the backseat. They already watch the moving map and get a kick out of it. Also, when you're waiting for someone or have a little time to kill, have the option to watch some tv or dvd would be nice.
It looks like it would be quite complicated and not worth it since the graphics of the screen is pretty poor, and also considering the possibility of voiding the warranty and messing up one's nice new bimmer.
