Need Help on taking out old MT Knob

Can anybody tell me how to pull out the knob from an MT e90..Did not like the aluminum trim so I ordered a new BMW leather MT knob

I was told that all you need is to do is pull it out, I tried but it wont come out....I really do not want to go to a dealer for this.

Any suggestions will be appreciated

If it's anything like every other BMW manual shift knob in recent history, just pull harder.

When I swapped out my shift knob recently I did some searches and they all basically said the same thing...
1-position yourself straight over it with your knees bent...like you're going to swing it like a golf club or like you're going to lift some weights
2-make sure when you pull that you don't whack yourself in the jaw when it comes off, and finally
3-give it a very sharp pull - not slowly increasing pressure

Following those instructions, my stock shift knob came off in about 10 seconds.

Thanks...I will try that. I thought I could pull it out stiing down with increasing pressure.

BTW....nice wheels!

Pull very hard and don't hit yourself in the nose.

I hope that I will not break anything doing this.....is there anything that could possibly break by pulling the knob out hard?
