Hi everyone! I am wondering what kind of prices people are getting quoted on the new 330 and 325. We already lease a 2004 325i that my wife will be taking over and the dealer is telling me that since we are existing customers I "might" get 2% off MSRP on my new one. Also what kind of deposits are the dealers asking for to order a car? Thanks so much for your help!! |

The consensus seems to be that about $1000 off the sticker is not unreasonable for a 330i. I haven't shopped at all for 325's so maybe a bit less room on them, maybe not.
That said, there are plenty of dealers who are quite upset that other dealers are going below MSRP. BMW Seattle went so far as to call another dealer I had an offer from to complain and chastise them for going below MSRP. They are going to be getting a lot of bad word of mouth from me for that one along with losing all the service they could have done on my car. Some dealers even have a markup on the cars on their lot.
If you shop around you should be able to get $1000 off sticker on a 330i if not a little more depending on your area. Unfortunately I don't know much about the Michigan area dealers to point you to one that's dealing.

Thanks so much for your help!! | Some people are getting between $1000 - $1500 off MSRP. As a "return" customer I got $1350 off MSRP on a 330i moderately optioned. They took a $500 deposit from me to order the car. good luck.

Not only that but I think it might be considered illegal price fixing.

Just to be clear, if there is an agreement to maintain MSRP ==> Good case If dealer 2 says to dealer 1: f.u. then maybe not so good. Maybe attempt only.

i saw one with $2000 off msrp on ebay a few days ago. and i had one offerng me $1320 over invoice. i also heard from a fellow shopper who got $1600 over. there definitely are dealers who are wlling to deal if you are serious enough. so don't let the dealer tell you what you mght get. tell them what you want instead.
