Has anyone succesfully installed a clutch stop in their E90?

I am interested in trying, but the RE site indicates the following:

"NOTE: some later E36 and all E46 and E90 BMWs require the clutch to be partially or fully depressed in order to start the vehicle. Because of the nature of the clutch stop, it does not allow the clutch to be depressed fully, to the floor, and may not activate the switch to allow the car to start.)"

What experiences have people had with this?

I was also looking into installing a clutch stop but you need to fully depress the clutch pedal in order to start the car - I tested this out and it is indeed true -the push button ignition won't register unless the pedal is fully depressed.

To be honest, it seems to me that the clutch doesn't have that much dead travel at the bottom. I haven't experimented much, but I would guess that the "total disengagement" occurs no more that 10% of the way from the floor.

not to sound dumb but what is the need for a clutch stop?

Some drivers put a block of some kind beneath the clutch so that it won't travel all the way to the floor. This makes shifting faster, theoretically.

Many of us did it in our E46s because there was too much travel in the pedal before it caught. It is a very quick and easy mod. It wasn't about faster shifts - it was about smoother shifts, and better seating position.

I believe there's no need for a clutch stop on an E90 as they fixed the takeup issues on the E90.
