Well it seems this is my week...

Driving home tonight I blew out the right rear. 255/40 R17 v rated. My car came with the Pirelli Euforri run flats.

Riding oin the run flat was a little odd but I was glad to have it in the pooring rain..

10,150 miles on the car. Still had 8/32's of tread left. Tire started new with 10/32's.

$255 out the door at Discount Tire. Dealer ( Bavarian BMW in Shelby MI) wanted $259.00 PLUS TAX PLUS $50.oo more to mount and balance.......

Im it a point of choosing a tire for my alloy upgrade, I was toying with euforia's runflats and were really considering it. but more review readings on its performance and thread life, i have placed an order on Pilot Sports All Season
Based on your experience, Would you recommend runflats was it worth all the money for driving convenience with a flat, but not the convenience to replace it? Did bmw 24/7 helped?

your reply is appreciated? and also from others in the forum

Must be something going on down south. I had a flat in Kentucky last Saturday (I swear the sidewall failed) on my 330ci (Right rear, 255/35/18 Bridgestone). Roadside Assistance had someone to the car in 30 minutes, directed us to a good tire store, replaced it with a correct size and rating Kumho (Rhymes with Oh no, $174 including mounting and balancing! Tire Rack price $166, no rip-off) Back on the road in 90 minutes. I've always run Michelin Pilots and have never had this kind of problem, guess what I buy next?

How did it blow out? Impossible to have a blow out on a RF. did you hit something? or is there a hole in the thread or was it a defect? if it is blow out it may be covered under the tire warranty..... the booklet should have come with the car.
