e-90 Sport Package Handling
I have ordered a car that is 'produced but not shipped'---a 325 Sport/Premium w/a stick. To me (and my wife), it made to my money into lateral G's, rather than pay $6K for another 6/10th of a second to 60mph.
Meantime, and just for fun, yesterday I drove an '03 M-3. Loved it. Of course. "It handles a little rough," said the salesman. "That ain't rough," I replied. "That's just right."
Question: How different will the handling be on my new 325? Close?
Thanks,
U.

With regards to the M3, I can't speak, I have never driven one. The e46 is a whole different matter though, I had one for more than 5 years (Well, it was called 323i back then but was the same thing). Both that car and my current e90 are equipped with the Sport package, so it is a good basis for comparison:
- E90 is more compliant. - E46 had a bit better steering feel (You "read" the road surface more easily). - E90 holds better in the corner, despite the fact that it is generally more comfortable, they did a surprising good job on it. - E90 has more power and you'll love to hear the engine screaming.

My auto is also "awaiting shipping vessel". Let me know if you find out what ship yours is on as mine might be right beside it. Thx.
