 Flat Spots

I have the 330 with sport package and 18 inch wheels. The ride to work in the morning is noticeably rougher then the drive home. I believe the difference is from the flat spots that develop on the tires overnight. I have previously had other cars with 18 inch wheels, and it was not as noticeable when the tires had flat spots.

Has anyone else noticed this? Are run flat tires more prone to flat spots? Is it just the Bridgestones?

Hey howz it goin there rkwjr? lissen you are talkin jus overnite..... my 750il E38 w/sport packg (18"-M Wheels) was parked the whole winter in my garage ....I had dunlops put on the baby last summer.....but yea these flat spots have developed as a result of standing and now it gives me that occassional shimmy in the steering wheel every now and then....it really is bothering Is there any way of getting rid of them so that I can have a smooth ride? Can I claim warranty on these Dunlop Tires????

Yes, I am talking about overnight. It goes away after about ten miles, but comes back the next morning.

Mine does this too, my E39 did also. It's frustrating, especially since my driveway is crushed bluestone and it's an uneven flat spot. That's the way low-profile tires are...so unfortunately we have to get used to it.

I have a set of Bridgestones (not run flats), I've noticed they seem a little "lumpy" when cold and take a couple of miles to even out.

Could it be my imagination?

I noticed this shimmy/shaking last night as well.

I've never had a problem until last night and it seemed to go away so I guess I am having the same problem you guys are describing.

I will make sure I notice the first few miles the next time I drive.
