I split my time between L.A. and Orlando, I drive a lot, and I cannot remember the last time I had an opportunity to safely use cruise control.
I realize that BMW's new ACC is supposed to work in slightly denser traffic situations, but really; how many more opportunities will this feature provide to safely use CC?
I am not concerned simply with the cost [though $2200 is a lot of smack for a CC option, in fact $2,200 is enough for a nice weekend in Paris for two] but I am more concerned with having another complicated tech feature to break down and one that likely won't be used very much…in addition to the exorbitant cost.
Anyone else have any other thoughts?

I love mine, had the car a week and find that i am using it all the time, its workings amazes me !! In my old car i had regular cruise control and never ever used it

I can't imagine that ACC would be that useful with a manual tranny. That rules out a large number of people on this forum.

I told my girlfriend I wasn't getting active cruise control and she was disapointed. She offered to buy it for me. I told her it was $2K. She quickly retracted her offer. She said she would give me $100 for it.
I am not getting ACC.
it's a cool idea but not same price as the nav system cool.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to get it. It's a toy and it'd be a fun thing to try out.
