no it means 20% light gets through, its pretty dark and illegal in ny.. the next level would be limo tint which you would not be able to see through.. it really depends at what angle your looking from some angles you cannot see through it other angles you can. anyone suggest i switch it for limo tint? whats are the chances of a ticket?

I have blk on blk and need to tint the widows due to heat.....what about 50%?

well being that even with 20% people can see through even though i have a black interior which is supposed to be helpfull i would imagine that anything less then 30% would not stop anyone seeing into the car although it would reduce the effect of the sun...
