  G35 Ad Targeted Towards E90

 G35 Ad Targeted Towards E90

Has anyone seen the G35 ads targeting the E90? (they are on Edmunds etc). I am surprised that Infiniti is directly targeting the new 330. Ballsy move, but well justified since the power output on a MT G35 is 298!

I like BMW, but they really need to get w/the program with quality and price. (i.e. a poster experienced a transmission failure on an E90 after one week , that's unheard of for just about any manufacturer, except BMW).

Here's an excerpt of Edmund's review:

Driving Impressions:
As expected, the G35 offers a very entertaining ride. Acceleration is strong, and the prodigious midrange torque is something not often found in this class of car. Handling, too, is on par with the best and you'll likely find yourself leaving the windows down just to hear the exhaust note of the coupe. We highly recommend taking a look at the G35 if you're shopping for an entry-level luxury sport sedan or coupe.

I think Infiniti ads targeting the E90 is a great way to sell cars. BMW cars.

Why let everyone know that BMW is the benchmark to compare to?

The Bimmer is not only a better car, it's a much better car.

I wouldn't believe everything I read on the internet.

We have a G35 too and while a great value it is NOWHERE near the driving class of my ZHP. Chicks (my wife) like the G better due to 'softer' ride (ours has the 'sport' package and it still feels too soft for me)...

I drove a 05 6mt g35. still prefered my e46 330i. much smoother, better handling car. and the e90 is even better than the e46.

I've seen this ad in a magazine or two, although I can't remember which ones right now. There was a full-page ad quoting BMW saying "When you set the bar you feel obliged to raise it now and then". Then Infiniti asks if 255hp is the bar, what is 298hp?

I smiled when I saw this ad. It is definitely a gutsy move and if I were Infiniti I'd probably be doing the same. Most of us know what the G35 is and still choose the 3 series over it but its not for everyone anyway.

And regarding failing transmissions, it happens to the best of them on rare occasion. My aunt's family bought a brand new Toyota Sienna a couple of years ago and the transmission totally died on them on the interstate shortly after. And that's Toyota.
