I have tried pairing my Nokia 7610 with the bluetooth system in our new 2006 330i with Nav. Niether the phone nor the car seem to be able to 'see' each other. Any suggestions? Is the Bluetooth only going to work for the few phones that BMW suggests using? My dealer seems to think so.

oh crap. This is bad. I'm also planning to use a 7610 with my new E90 bluetooth car kit :/ What software version does your phone have? (push *#0000# to see) I hear that it works with the latest software!

My 7610 has 4.0440.2 / 01-10-04 / RH-52.
It pairs beautifully with my wife's Prius. I can't comment on BMW as I have a 2004, with the bad TCU.
We also have a 6230, which is supposed to work but not with automatic phonebook transfer. I'll be away from the 13th to the 26th (June 05), but if you haven't resolved it by then and want to try other phones, send me a PM. (I'm in Berkely.)
In any event, I'd try a known good phone first, before I did anything to my 7610.

My phone has software version 5.0509.0/ 28-02-05/ Rh-51
I had the software upgraded at my Nokia Service Center. I was told that Nokia's with the latest software works, but my car is only coming end of july...so I can only tell you then. If you do manage to get it working, let us know.

Just picked up my e90 330i. How do you pair the phone to the Idrive???
Never mind. I figured it out - wasn't in the owners manual.
