Where Are The 3 Series Made
Have seen on posts elsewhere that some of the cars are made in South Africa, and the qualty issues on those are much higher than the ones made in Germany. How anyone knows this is beyond me, Anyone have any info on this item.  | | Reply » Where Are The 3 Series Made |
The e90 is assembled in Leipzig, Regensburg, Munich and SA. We only get 325i's from SA, unless that has changed in the e46 to e90 transition.
As far as quality, the SA plant has a better quality than the Munich/Regensburg plants. But, nowadays final assembly doesn't really affect a car that much, unless its a VW facility in Mexioc  .
But, you won't be gettting a substandard product out of Germany by any means. While the SA plant has won BMW's internal manufacturing facility award for a couple years now, recently some survey I read on the forum wa rating the new Leipzig and the Regensburg facilities very highly of all the car plants in Europe.
