4 yr service plan/oil
will the new e90 have this?
Will it cover all oil changes for the first 4 yrs?
What kind of oil does the car use? Recommended brand?
Do you only need to change the oil every 15,000 miles?
So, if you only put 15,000 miles a yr on the car and drove it for 60,000 miles, would you just have 4 oil changes?

However, you cannot take it in every 3000 miles and expect them to change your oil. They will only change it when the service light turns on inside the car. This comes on depending on how hard you drive the car. Highway miles will give you about 15000 miles, while stop and go should give you 10000 to 12000. Oil change interval is a very hot topic with individuals. Some still believe that 3000 miles is a MUST for oil changes (thanks Jiffy Lube ), while others believe 100% in the BMW engineers that decided for 15000 miles. Synthetic oil doesn't break down and lose it's viscocity like traditional oils, plus filter technology is better now-a-days that more contaminates will be caught by the filter. One comon misnomer is that if the oil is black you MUST change it. Oil gets dark from carbon during the combustion process. Synthetic oil does not lose any of it's viscocity during this time. Sythetic oil also doesn't muck up internal parts like traditional oils (Penzoil) used to do.

I have 12,500 on my car I have already had 2 oil chages paid by BMW. After 12 months in service and 7,000 miles on the car the oil was changed by SI was not reset. The SI came on at 12,200 miles about 3 weeks ago and the car got an Oil Service. The SI starts it countdown at 15,500 miles and based of fuel consumed it reduces the mileage. The week that I got the Oil Service I had 200 miles left until Oil Change per the SI on Monday. By Wednesday I had 0 miles to go although I had only driven about 60 miles.
