 E90 Sport Package worth look?

Im about to order my E90...and cant decide what I want as far as package and options....Im not a big "racing" or "sport package" type of guy, and hate me for it, but im a more "looks" kind of guy....if I got the sports package, it would be mostly for the larger tires....but I guess thats my question.......does the physical appearance of the sports package really make the car look much better than the regular 16" tires???? I know the 19" pictures Ive seen from the Geneva auto show make the car look so good....but I know 19" tires are not in my price range........just looking for honest opinions about the "look" of the sport package over non.....thanks

The sports seats alone are worth the price. If you're into looks, than you're improving with the 17s (325i) and, for sure, with the 18s (330i).

Call me conservative but I prefer standard seats and standard steering wheel over those provided with the sports package. But that's just me - I like more comfort (softer suspension and steptronic) over a racing car with a stick. Of course, I am not saying that the latter one is bad - it's just my preference. I think sports package goes really well with manual transmission or SMG.

In fact, I really liked the 4 spoke steering wheel in E46

If the "look" is something of greater consideration to you, then think about the look not only in today's terms but also how well that look will age in the future. As new model years of a given car come out they tend to pack themselve with features introduced from prior years; plus their physical design will evolve from the prior model years. Generally speaking newer models tend to be more appealing (apearance, features, performance, etc) than the models from the previous years.

If looks is important to you given all the options available today, then I presume you'll probably want that look to last and age well through X number of years in the future. If these things are true, then my recommendation is to select all the features you can afford today since newer models will have that and then some. If you don't, then the look you choose today is going to quickly look paler in comparison than the new models that will come out. Another question for you may be, how much you want to pay to futureproof your look?

Apart from any other considerations - sport and premium are pretty much standard packages for BMW and it will hurt your resale and actual ability to sell your car if you don't have them. Many people will simply look for premium/sport packaged cars which there will be plenty of and ignore yours. Just something to consider.
Sport will give you better seats, steering wheel not to mention tighter suspension (non sport E46s were a boat) and better wheels/tires.
