 "BMW 3 Across America"

Is this event the same as some of the previews mentioned by other 'Festers?

I received a card in the mail inviting me to "bring my BMW to meet the all-new 3 Series"; these events are being held all across the United States of America, beginning in Nueva York March 24-26 and ending in Lost Angeles May 5-6 (hmm...wonder if I could get a cheap fare on Jet Blue to NY for the 24th of March?????

The website (at least as of this posting) isn't ready for registration, but I'm hoping to get to this event when it does come to LA...

(Okay, this is anthropomorphizing, but I do think Karl Bimmer would be a tad upset meeting the E90, since I've pretty much decided to let The Oldest Tax Deduction have Karl in about 3-4 years, and Mom Gets a 330i (yah, baby!) )

My car won't get jealous, the E90 will be for my wife

Now if I can only convince her to get rid of that Accord

I don't know what the event is about, but I'm going nonetheless.

EDIT: Given that it is on the 28th of March in Boston, when the heck will they open registration.....

I'd call the number, I already did this morning and signed up. the way the postcard is worded it seems like there are only 50 spots per city. i could be wrong though.

incidentally, after i was set for may 5th from 6-9, i realized it was a thursday (i had thought it was friday) and when i called back to change to may 6th, they said they didn't have any info on the 6th and was going to call me back but never did. (what a surprise)

also, there are actually 3 different phone numbers for this.

the one on the postcard
another on the website
another in the confirmation email i got. (which i noticed is from bmwevents (or similar) @harte-hanks.com) i'm a little peeved that harte-hanks (the junk mail people who also publish pennysaver) now has my email and phone number.

I think it is much more than that. See portion of e-mail from my reservation confirmation:

Remember to bring your BMW, and arrive as early as possible. The first
100 registered attendees will enjoy a photo opportunity, complimentary
lunch and a gift. Plus, if you are among the first 50 cars to arrive,
you will receive preferred parking.

my email doesn't mention any of the above.

I wonder if I also need to drive my bimmer to the event...? was your email also from harte-hanks?

Yep. Got my conf. email from harte-hanks and they also mentioned the first 100 cars and first 50 cars getting special privileges. I have the week off between jobs, so I guess I'll make an effort to be among the first 50.
