Nav comparo
Anyone know how the NAV system in the E90 will compare to that in the E46? Having spent a weekend messing with my girlfriend's system, I am interested to see what the next gen is looking like. Anyway, the NAV in the E90 is almost the same as in the current 5 Series.

I've had the opportunity to briefly experience iDrive on a 5 series (one advantage of living 5 miles from BMWNA and joining a dart league  ). Personally, I'll avoid it at all costs and stick a tomtom GO or similar on the windshield if needed.

I have the E46 Nav. And IŽve driven the E60 Nav extensively.
I like my E46 nav
I hate the E60 Nav and I-Drive.
The I-Drive even made me use voice activation (which I have on the E46 but never use) simply because I canŽt handle the I-drive crap. just too darm many levels. Too many sequential steps you have to take to access on simple function. Awfull! I donŽt want to have to talk to my car. I find that silly. Give me a button please!
And could somebody please tell me how to STOP the bloody Navigation short of stoping the car, getting out of it, locking it and leaving it for more than 5 minutes, coming back and answering "No" to the question of "Would you like to continue nav?"
While I admire BMW for building such great CARS, I find their vehicle electronic interfaces terrible.
IŽll definitely order an E90 or E92. But IŽll definitely order it without I-drive
Oh and by the way, I make my living in IT.
