window switches
I sat in the E90 at the NY Auto Show (along with several million others) and the one thing that really jumped out at me was the placement of the window switches. They put them so far forward on that long narrow diving driver's door armrest, that it seemed very awkward. Seemed like you almost had to reachdown to your calf to open a window. Anybody else have the same thought?
I predict a bunch of tollboth accidents as people try to fumble for the window switch with one hand and for change with the other.

| | Reply » window switches | I have an E36 (center buttons) and a Alfa Selespeed(forgive me i have sinned on this forum ) buttons on the door armrests and i must agree buttons in the center is better!

But the armrest on the E-90 runs pretty much the entire length of the door and it sweeps down toward the front, narrowing as it goes.
So, while I like the "switches-on-the-door" thing, I thought it was an unfortunate design choice that placed these switches (1) so far forward that you have to reach for them, (2) because the armrest sweeps down, you not only have to reach forward, but also down, and (3) because they are placed on the narrower part of the armrest, the switches are kinda small and close together.
Of course, I'm also a guy who complained that Claudia Schiffer's breasts were slightly different sizes. So I have a history of nitpicking generally excellent German designs.
