 Television capability w/ onboard nav

In the E90 Configurator there are options for enabling TV viewing w/ the onboard monitor for the nav, I know that this must be a Eurpean only feature as it would probably be illegal in the states. But does anyone know how easy it would be to mod the computer to allow this... if at all possible? I just think it would be a neat mod...

I think you're correct that it's a European only feature but I'm not really sure why it would be illegal in the US. From what I've read, the TV video only works if the car is stopped. If it's in motion the video is blanked and the audio plays so there shouldn't be an issue with distracting the driver. There are plenty of after-market head-units that play video so I don't see how this wouldn't be legal in the US. I sure would like to have the option in mine though.

Tv blanks at speed greater than 4km/h and sound only plays.

Europe generally runs PAL format for their TV, USA runs NTSC

They do sell a kit in Europe to retrofit TV function in the E46
