 ED Delivery Timing

Hi Everybody...I am looking for info on ED. My dealer has told me that I need at least 90 days before I can schedule a pick up date at the factory. Since I am going to Poland and Germany anyway at the begining of June...I wonder if this is correct or not. I really would like a couple of Gs on my pocket instead of the dealer's.
Also I have heard all the hype on the E90 and how everybody wants one. Thus I am afraid it would be difficult in Southern CA to get one without getting MSRP. Any advise on that? Thanks

PS I'll be seeing and hopefully test driving the E90 on May in Santa Monica !!!

ED is arguably the only way to get some money off of the car only because the E90s are brand new. Most dealers won't want to negotiate since the demand will be high to have the latest and greatest, however, I'm still going to push my dealer on the price and if you can't do the ED then I'd suggest the same.

Unless the ED dept has sold all their first week May production there should not be a proplem with the beginning of June. Even if there is a late Apr ED car is should still be modifyable to meet your specs. Call Beewang's guy in Santa Barbara I think it is.

Normally, from what I hear, you don't really need a full 90 days... but for a June delivery, you do need a May production slot, and I saw reported on another thread here (the "No cars before May 6th" thread) that they were almost sold out on the May e90 production slots, something my own dealer also reported when I placed my order yesterday. So I'd move fast...

Thanks for the quick replies, I'll try again with another dealer since at this point is a long shot...However do you know the dropoff cities in Europe for delivery to the US...I just want to plan my vacation accordingly.!!!

See the BMW site for city info http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/EuropeanDelivery

There's a very helpful European Delivery forum here, check that out. I don't know what part of CA you're in, but from what I have read over there, BMW of Santa Barbara is great... see in particular the thread on dealers who like to do ED.
