Question about ED leasing and 14 day pre-payment
I'm picking up my car on Friday 17 March, but just realised that a business trip from Tuesday 28 Feb - Friday 3 March. I'm leasing my car, and am already approved by BMWFS. My quesitons are:
1. How hard is the BMW 14 day payment date? Can I pay on Saturday 4 March for example?
2. Can I pre-date the lease? For example, sign it on Monday 27 Feb, but for it to start on Friday 3 March?
3. Or is my only option to start the lease early?

Chris. | There was an issue with my lease paperwork(MF got jacked) back in October. We didn't sign the actual lease agreement till 8 days before scheduled delivery in Munich. It wasn't fun at all but there is some leeway. It will be up to your dealer to straighten things out.

You'll forgive me if I'm wrong here, but what does signing the papers have to do with the effective start date of the lease? Or ownership for that matter if you happen to be buying?
Isn't the lease inception date the delivery date of the car in Munich?
BMW has you "sign" for the car 14 days early so all the paperwork is in order and no last minute craziness occurs prior to pickup in Munich. Apparently, at that time, there is some intra account movements between BMWNA and the dealers and maybe BMWFS but that's for them to worry about. To you, the purchaser (or leasee), and to BMW, the effective date should be your Munich pickup date.

You are actually starting the lease for the car before pickup - at least 14 days prior. Lease start is not the date of pickup.
