Itinerary/Hotel
Hi all,
I'm trying to finalize my trip details and would like some guidance on certain locales. Right now the places I plan on visiting Milan, Monaco, and Zurich (drop-off point). I've already booked the Marriott in Munich on Priceline, but now need to make some reservations for the others. If anyone familiar with the other cities can recommend hotels, which cities to stay in and where I might want to stay on the outskirts due to prices or congestion, routes to take, etc I would appreciate it. Also, feel free to pass on any restaurant or destination tips as well. Thanks in advance!

| | Reply » Itinerary/Hotel | Sounds like a great itinerary. Very varied.
I cannot really add too many tips, except that Milan is a confusing city to drive in. I hope you ordered sat nav for your car.

There are much better places in Italy.

While this city is not renowned for its looks, its lifestyle is what counts. Music (ever hear of Teatro alla Scala, built under the auspieces of Maria Theresia incidentally, and considered one of the great opera houses of the world ?) is a big part of the scene. Milan is the world's design capital and rivals Paris as a fashion center. Shopping is a religious experience here. The city has great restaurants and clubs as well.
