I called Lufthansa's BMW rep. and the best prices for the end of April till early May are around 1200 for the economy fare and 200 in taxes for the (free)second ticket RT from Chicago to Munich...Anyone have any suggestions for lower prices? That time of year is the beginning of the high season and this may be as good as it gets....FYI they actually quoted me a cheaper price Chicago to Munich and return to Chicago from Paris 1040 plus 200 for second ticket's taxes.

1) Sit on your arse in Munich the entire time or 2) Back Paddle to Munich so you can catch your light home. Wasting gas, valueble time, and mileage.
I think this is a no brainer, why in the world would anyone vacationing in Europe would want to back track your steps especially when the flight is cheaper not doing so.
Yeah, that's the busy season and that is as good as its gonna get
cheers,

Hey McFly, look at a map.
There are lots of trips you can organize that would allow you to start and stop in Munich without retracing steps.

My wife and I purchased our tickets for $530 each (taxes included) through travelocity Miami to Munich, returning from Paris to Miami on United for 3/8- 3/19.

Check my earlier post - you can request Lufthansa to quote you Transatlantic travel on United as part of 2-for-1 offer. United fares are generally slightly less, plus the biggest thing is United taxes are $100 less than Lufthansa(around $100 vs. $200 on LH), so you even if the fares are the same, you will save $200 on two tickets.
