Buying Premium Gas in France
Any suggestions? Also, do they list Octane numbers on their pumps?
Thanks,
Dave

If I remember correctly the terminology is unleaded (sans plomb) in either 95 or 98 octane, super unleaded (super) or diesel (gazole). Some stations will also sell what is called "fuel". Do not buy it. It is diesel that is only sold to farmers.
It is fairly obvious once you get there. Also, prices follow the same pattern as here. Most expensive at stations on toll autoroutes, cheapest at supermarkets.

Thanks, Dave | Octane measurement unit in Europe, and for that matter the rest of the World, is different that here in the States and Canada. Premium gas abroad has an octane rating of 95 or better. 95 is equal to US/CDN 91.
