My regrets on ED
I only have 2 regrets from my ED trip.
1. I forgot to go to the BMW dealer/accessories/parts to pick up some goodies. 2. I forgot to drive out of munich to go to that huge castle. 3. The marriott was a great priced hotel and great value/quality but I should have booked something in the center of town.
Besides that, that was about it.
What are your regrets during the trip?

The Marriott everyone seems to recommend does seem quite "Americanized", but heck the price is right.
I prefer a little more local color.

I prefer a little more local color. | We stayed at and enjoyed Hotel Uhland. The price was right here also. I believe it was recommended by Rick Steves and some folks on this board. Most of the guests were German. There was always someone on the front desk who spoke English to help us out. On the last day when there were other English speaking people at breakfast, it seemed the room grew silent as everyone practiced listening to English. Some of the best breakfasts we had (3 1/2 weeks in Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and France) were at this hotel.

There was also a cozy little restaurant right around the corner and a really neat church that we toured after dinner our first night. We highly recommend this hotel.
