Air, hotel, factory tour, and Uffizi gallery reservations are made - 4 weeks to pick up date.... and last Sun my SO has chest pain and underwent emergency open heart surgery.... the good part is that the surgery went fine and the recovery is going very well...
I am pretty sure the doc is not going to recommend travel after 4 weeks - and this means that the trip would need to be postponed indefinately....
First my brand new car gets totalled, and now this.... is this just a sign that I am not meant to own a bimmer?!!

Wow....I hope everything works out...the important thing is that it's just a car....they build hundreds of them a day. You've only got one heart though.....keep it healthy and do what the doctor says.

Sorry to hear all these events in your life. Unfortunately sometimes not so good events seem to happen in a short period of time. Glad to hear that your SO will be making a full recovery.
One positive thing to look at is that this happened at home, can you imagine the nightmare of having to deal with a medical emergency abroad? This is something that a lot people doing ED do not think about. Before going abroad people need to check and see if their medical insurance will cover medical services provided abroad. Since I am a non US passport holder the German consulate required that I provide proof of medical insurance coverage while in Germany before they would issue me a visa.

Glad surgery went ok - and I wish your SO a speedy recovery. IŽm sure youŽll be able to adjust your arrangements and it will be a great trip when you (and your partner) can travel again.
