The Jingu Maru is about to enter New York Harbor with my new 330 on board. Am I being over optimistic thinking that redlivery by November 2 (the day my current lease is up) is a real possibility?

It will be very close and perhaps your dealer (sales department) might give you a bridge loaner for a couple days until it arrives. Are you turning in a BMW ? if so you might be able to get an extension on your lease.

I hope for your sake and mine that this is the case. My new 330i is on the Jingu Maru too. I live in Atlanta and would love to take re-delivery by November 4th (just before the weekend)!

I am returning a BMW, but it is leased through Chase. The new car is leased through BMWFS so I doubt they'll do me any favors. My dealer is less than 20 miles from the port, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If not, I'll be driving our nanny car - or better yet, I'll be driving my wife's Audi and she'll be driving the nanny car.

I saw it this morning on the aislive site. Pretty cool to see the location of the ship carrying our cars. With the unknowns these days on getting through Customs/Ag I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but they're one step closer
