Thanks all for the contributions and answers to my questions the past few months. Leaving Fri night, spending a couple of days in Vienna first, then picking up the car Tues AM in Munich. I'll be sure to do a write up and pictues upon return.
Couple of last minute questions:
1. There's not a scheduled time at the deliver center, you're scheduled for a date and you can pickup anytime, correct?
2. Do I HAVE to get my drivers license for driving in Austria?
3. Any other last minute suggestions?

2.) yes (esp. if you are not a German speaker)
3.) yes, remember the 12 hour rule for posting pictures after delivery

Have a GREAT time (although that could go without saying  ) Don't forget to buy a vignette for driving on A-roads in Austria. Although I didn't comply with the 12-hour rule this time, I will on my 'next' ED (I promise Jonathan!) I actually enjoyed being away from a computer for a few days. Be sure to take LOTS of photos. I wish now I had taken more. Look forward to yours and hearing about the great time you are going to have

That buzz of e-mails, daily internet research, endless (but fun!) talk of source code and software challenges, slowly but surely gives way to the low growl of a precision engine begging to rev, the smooth mechanical sounds of gears shifting, and the occasional slight wind noise on an open stretch of Autobahn.
But the concept seems to disappear almost as soon as it began...
