 Bummer: munich tour booked

I booked the Munich tour about a month ago, received an email with the time, etc. Then today I receive another email stating the following:

Thank you for taking the time to contact BMW of North America, LLC regarding a Munich Factory Tour.

I received a reply from my colleagues at the Munich Factory and, unfortunately, the tour is fully booked on Tuesday, October 25, 2005.

We appreciate your interest in BMW and hope you can reschedule a tour at another time.

Is this "normal"? Is there a way I can still get into this tour, or should I look into another plant tour? Its not the end of the world, but it was one of the highlights of my trip to look forward to...

Are you staying in Munich more than a day? They do several tours a day, perhaps on the 26th there is an opening.

We're only in Munich for 1 1\2 days, so this would be the only time to do it. I was thinking maybe we'll just show up and take somebody's spot who cancels? Hopefully the ED reps can hook us up or something.

I would call the euro delivery 800 number today and see if you can try to escalate the issue. As far as I know the folks in Freimann don't really have any pull.

Your dealership also might have some pull in this.

Try what jspira says and also try to get on the waitlist. When I took the tour a couple of years ago a number of people were hoping to get on it while waiting. They didn't, but that's because the waitlist was long. I suspect if you arrange it now, you'd be near the top of that list. Surely someone will oversleep and miss the tour.

Or miss their flight... or underestimate the time it takes to get back to Munich in time for the tour and ...
