 ED sequence

First, I've done a lot of searching and learned a lot already. So please, no flames for not searching if this topics has already been covered.

For the folks who have done ED.....
What is the sequence of: booking flights, booking hotel, scheduling pick up date in Munich.
I ask because of the avilability of hotels and flights and want to schedule all of these with mimimum hassle.
Thanks.

Hmmm... flaming seems tempting as you no doubt understand! Considering how many times this question has come up. Good instincts on that. However, I'll do the search for you, how about a thread called

"What's supposed to happen" instead of your "ED sequence" Please especially check posts 1 and 2. Post 1 starts with "I wonder if an experienced person would be kind enough to tell me what the sequence is for ED buyers."

Have fun, look around, I'm sure others will jump in here too!

Sequence:

Assuming you have settle on car, a price w/ a dealer.

1) Pick-up date orally confirmed by ED office.

2) With the pick-up date in mind you can plan for your trip w/ flight schedule and airfare (be it Lufthansa or anyone else).

3) Once you have your airfare and traveling dates figured out you can start to plan your trip and the hotels. Pay special attention to any potential conventions, festivals and events as your hotel price/availability will very pending on the events.

The above is the order that I would do.

No problem!

Basically you just need to find your dealer and agree on the car and price. Then tell him what day you want to pick it up, within a few days it will be confirmed by the ED department and you can start making your plans! Enjoy, it's a great, fun process.

Agreed. And, BTW, if you're planning far enough out, minor changes in pickup dates are probably able to be accomodated. I originally was going to pick up on a Friday. We then moved our travel up a couple of days to get much lower airfares, so I picked up a couple days earlier. None of it was a problem 8 weeks in advance.
