I have a question about how to calculate ED pricing. Many people here seem to indicate that $1500 over ED invoice is reasonable price. Does this amount get added after adding US destination charge? (A couple of quotes I got add this charge.)
Also: What exactly is meant by "ED invoice"? Is this the same as "Base Price Euro Delivery Price Munich Pick Up" line appearing in some of the posted pdfs?

Add $695 to the "confidential wholesale" ED base price + wholesale price of options that you find in those pdfs and then add the dealer profit. What model are you getting? I would try for 1000 over.

As for what amount over invoice, it varies from dealer to dealer. You'll find around here that $1500 above is considered pretty good, but that there's always someone who does better. Money's money, but in the end I wouldn't walk away over $500 or less.

Thanks Marcus and Tanning for your replies.
I'm looking at X3 3.0 with premium and a few other options. It looks like I've got a quote from a good dealer for under $XXXX in profit, which I think seems quite reasonable.
This is my second ED from BMW, but I didn't do much homework for the first one (2000 528 iT.)
Thanks again for the replies.

Yes, it does. I'm also impressed by the availability of short notice time. This is for early August. They dealer also claims a four to five week wait for arrival back here (drop off in Munich). This would be major improvement over the almost ten weeks I waited last time around.
