ED for 15 days, how about insurance?
I read that the insurance coverage for ED cars are for 14 days. In my case, I would like to pick up the car on Monday morning and return it two weeks later on Monday morning.
Could somebody advise how this would work? Would I need to buy an insurance extension for another 30 days? If yes, I would prefer to return the car one day earlier but they are closed on Sundays... What would you recommend?

What would you recommend? | You can probably arrange to return on Sunday, perhaps by filling out paperwork in advance and dropping the car at the designated location. Do a search, because it's come up here before.
Depending on your schedule, you might also pick up on a Tuesday. If you're staying in Munich for a couple of days, no need to pick up the car until the day you leave.

The ED people may still pick up the license plates a work day before, in this case, on Friday. To get the plates, they have to prove the car is insured. So, they may very well have to start the insurance on Friday. Your 14 days of prepaid insurance could then end three days too soon. If the ED people are still doing things a work day ahead, make sure the car will be licensed and insured for at least 17 days, or don't be surprised if you have to drop it off on Friday.

Also if you drop off in Italy and the car gets driven back to Germany you have to have it insured for that stretch of the trip also. You may need to still get the insurance regardless. Double check with your dealer.
