Ordering ED from a dealer MD shipping to TX?

Hi. I've ordered by 2006 e90 ED from a dealership in MD (from Joern). It's sparkling graphite on black with wood trim. I'm getting a GREAT deal (only about xxxx above wholesale) and pickup in Munich on May 19th.

I have one question. I have to ship it to Texas. The dealer is saying that he'll ship it to a dealer in TX but that dealer will charge. Is this how it's typically done? What kind of fee should I expect?

THANKS!

From what I've seen in other threads, it looks like the "courtesy" prep or delivery fee at the other dealer is $500. On another note, could you please PM me the contact info for your contact at Joern. That's an incredible deal that I'd like to jump on as I plan to place my order next week.

Thanks,
Armen

Just curious, which TX dealers did you try before going with the MD dealer?

I tried contacting BMW of Houston, North Houston and North Houston-Woodlands...i couldn't get them to move from MSRP...also, I tired the place in Tyler and Austin that mentioned in the list, but they weren't responsive either....

Did you contact Garlyn Shelton in either Temple or Bryan? Many of us have bought succesfully with excellent pricing from either location.

Many people are not happy with the so called courtesy delivery. The receiving dealer does not do as much as detail you car. The fee is basically just for transportation.

For something like this I would consider a vacation to drive my car back to TX . It would be a good way to bond with yoru new car.
