body work pricing?
I recently received one of those door dings that just iiritate the heck out of you. It's too big to let it go un-noticed but almost too small to fix. I was wondering what is a good price for the work. Basically, it's a large paint chip with nostructural damage. I called teh lcal dealer who pointed me to their bidy shop and I was appalled at the price. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks,
The_Passenger

My preference has always been for non-metallic, primarily as a matter of choice, but these days you can only get black and white as non-metallic colors. Not much of a choice.
You can either do a touch up, which will irritate you every time you look at it, or go the full monty, which will irritate you when you pay for it. How much irritation can you take?

What kind of quote did you get? Did you shop around? If you're looking to sell the car soon, I'd consider touch-up. If you want to keep the car for awhile, though, I'd bite the bullet and get it fixed right. It'll bug the heck out of you each time you see a blemish on your baby (at least, it would for me).
