 BMW 5&6 series chassis materials

Hello everyone!

I'm new in this group and I don't know if I can find this from somewhere else, but I ask this here.

So, for my educational purposes, I need information of materials and joining techniques used in latest 5 & 6 series. I need to do a presentation, so if there is some illustrations of materials used or something like that, I'd like to know. I find it very hard to find any information at all, so everything you know (links, pictures, text, brochures) is very good for me. I'm also in a hurry (presentation should be ready by next Friday) so don't hesitate if you know!

I doubt any of us are that familiar with BMW's production techiques, and if we were, we probably wouldn't want to describe them in detail, in case they were patented. Competitivate advantage, and all that.

I can tell you that the entire front of the 5er and 6er is made from bonded (glued) and riveted aluminium panels. Four or five seconds on Google threw up this link:

I got a lots of material for my work from local BMW importer and work is done now. I think there is no matters regarding patents, but people are not interested of these things and only few have the knowledge.

I think the correct response would have been "thank you." :ingrate:
