 How To time a 91 318i

After doing some minor engine repairs I attempted to start the engine up. What I did not know is that the chain tentioner is controled by the oil pressure ? this cuased the chaine to jump teeth. I need some one to explain how to time the engine. I can time a chev egine but am not sure about this one. A tech page or even if theres a good engine tuning book out there that can be refered to me would be apreciated.

Thanks for your time and efforts

Get a haynes service manual. I am shure they have one available for this car. I needed to buy one for my 85 Mercedes Diesel and the manual is extremely detailed. You can visit their website and give them a call or they usually sell Haynes or something similar at the local parts store like advance auto parts, autozone, etc.
