 Pda Phone For X5

I would like to get a windows based PDA phone from Verizon that pairs with my 2005 X5 (It has bluetooth).

The charts show nothing will work but I have seen posts that say that the VX6600 will pair. I also saw a post about the MPX 220. I would also take the Treo 650 (not windows) if the Verizon version would pair. Maybe the Treo could be hacked and then it would pair.

Does anyone have experience with this issue?

According to this link, the Treo should work. Good luck!

I think there was a lengthy post on this recently. I liked the model number of the phone - 650 - and noticed the thread. However, according to BMW the Treo 650 will only work with Sprint, not Verizon. BMW will not guarantee full compatability, there may be some differences in code and the SIM card, and if your system malfunctions be prepared to get no sympathy (or help, just a ) from BMW.

I have a RAZR V3 with T-Mobile service, and that combination is not "approved" by BMW, only a RAZR with Cingular service. Several features of the RAZR do not work on my iDrive - including wait and pause code functions in number strings.

Both of the WinMobile phones you mention above are junk in my opinion. The VX is Massive in size and vastly under powered (cpu-wise) and the MPX is also overly large and very plasticky for what is should be. If it has to be Windows Mobile on Verizon, this would be my first choice- Samsung SCH-i730
It has been well reviewed and has almost everything you would need in a PDA phone-- Windows based OS, retractable mini-QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, bluetooth, honkin' fast cpu for a phone (520mhz) and more. It would be my next if I used Verizon (have a Treo650, Audiovox 5600 WinMobile Smartphone and Sony-Eric. T637 that is in car- all on Cingular). BUT....I have no idea if it sync's with your X5. Maybe someone here would know. Also, there are quite a few new WinMobile smartphones coming out this fall to the early part of next year and there is a WinMobile Treo planned for release sometime in the next year which is supposed to be a Verizon exclusive- Treo 700 for Verizon
If you can wait.

Hope this was helpful and Good luck!

p.s. neither Verizon, nor Sprint phones use SIM cards, only Cingular and T-Mobile. I believe Treo 650's for most all the carriers got a 'Bluetooth Car-kit' software update. I read that this helped Cingular versions connect with BMW's. I don't use mine with my 325i because of the phonebook transfer hassle.
