I use wooden ramps and drive the car a little over half the way up to get just enough clearance to drain the oil. Works for me. See my procedure at:

Quote: | beats the hell out of using a jack . | Actually, using a jack is quite simple on the 540. I had previously been using a friend's two post lift, but found a jack and jack stands works fine. You need a jack low enough to slide under from under the front bumper....place the "cup" of the jack under the point just past the (behind) the hatch for the oil drain plug. You will see a little "nose" protrusion that you jack at. Works fine, then set your jack stands and lower on to the stands.

I use $20 rhino ramps to change my oil. Just drive up and start unplugging away.

I suck the oil out through the dipstick tube with this:
