Diff ratio mods
Has anyone here modified the diff ratios on a 528i? Does anyone here know the exact diff ratio sitting out the back of this model? I have seen varied reports... your help would be appreciated.

Depends on year and transmission.
For the standard European model, automatic up through 8/98 and all manual have the 2.93. Automatic from 9/98 has a 3.07 ratio. If you have an auto with the shorter final drive ratio option, it would be 3.46. The tag on the differential should have some ring/pinion numbers you can use to calculate the ratio.
There are many options available 3.15, 3.46, 3.64, 4.10..
