 Changing automatic shift knob?

Was debating getting a different trim kit for my car, so Id need to swap out the wood shift knob as well. Was wondering if changing the automatic shift knob is the same as it is for the 6 speed which entails just yanking really really hard. Didnt find any automatic specific details in a search, and was wondering if anyone here swapped theirs out. Thanx in advance

The T style shifters have a small hex bolt that holds them in place. I am not fimilar with the newer style but it probably works the same way.

I believe you have to pull on it just like the 6-speed knob. I'm not sure if it helps to have the button depressed or not while doing this.

All it took was alot of tugging with the button depressed, and it came right off.

What did you replace it with? Have any pics? I was thinking about replacing mine as well!

I put in the titanium trim kit with the matching knob.
