I have a 2000 540i/6 with rear shades and DSP. I am installing Bilstiens and am stuck. I cannot figure out how to release the rear parcel shelf per the instructions in the Bently manual. It says to unbolt the rear shade, but it looks like the DSP subwoofer is in the way, and I don't see how the sub is mounted to the bottom of the shelf.
Anyone done this job in a car similarly equiped to mine?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Frank

You need to drop the DSP subwoofer in order to access a bolt that is holding the rear shade. Once that bolt is gone, it'll come right out.

There are actually three bolts that hold in the rear sunshade. When you put it all back together, make sure the sunshade power plug doesn't come undone (along the passenger side C-pillar) - just test the sunshade before you button it up.

Correct, but I recall that two bolts are visible and it is the elusive third one under the subwoofer that folks tend to forget. Am I all wet?

Thanks for your help guys. I found the bolt that holds the subwoofer up and there were the three bolts for the sunshade right underneath the subwoofer.

A little half related question:
What size is the subwoofer that comes with the DSP system? Is it the same as the M5 sound system?
