I am upgrading to m bumper and was wondering if i could retrofit headlight washers. Is it complicated? What does comprises the headlight washer system, is it a just another tube?

Andrew | It can be done! I actually considered it when I did my new bumper. I decided not to as I didnt want extra washer fluid on my paint. Different strokes, I suppose.
It takes a few things- Another washer tank- just for the headlights. Tubing, the actual washers that fit into the bumper. and some programming of the ECU. The headlight washers work every third time the stalk is activated or by some action that tells it to do an 'intensive wash' (or somethin). I have them on ethe 02 330 and the 04 X5, but I haven't paid enough attention to how or when they activate.

Those headlight washers can get very annoying, they also drain a good amount of washer fluid. Be ready to fill the washer fluid tank every so often. I wonder if there's a way to use just the windshield washers?

i guess i won't go on with the washers...i never thought of the fluids splattering all over my bodywork.. 
now that i think of it, i'd rather not have it. thx all.

It's every 5th time and it's therefore basically random.

Quote: | It's every 5th time and it's therefore basically random. | And also the first time you wash your windows with the headlights on... every 5th windshield wash after that... if you don't want to squirt your headlights, turn them off before washing your window... of course, I wouldn't recommend turning your headlights off at night while driving...
