Keep in mind the M5 weighs about 400-500 pounds more and has much bigger paws than the 525 and the M5 suspension is designed with that in mind.
This question has been asked several times, usually by members who have E39's with the sports package. Generally, the consensus has been that it's not a great idea to put the M5 suspension on a lower car. If you slap the M5 suspension on a 525 sport, the 525's ride height will actually increase. In your case, a 525 non sport...that's a tough one. I can't recall anyone on here that's done that switch yet so it will be hard to gauge an objective (or even subjective) opinion.
Now the sway bar is a different story. That's the best and easiest mod you can do. Are you getting the sway bar as part of the deal?

rear sway bar will work, front will not. I don't think the springs will either, as was mentioned about the higher ride height. Mike

okay, i see..well what do you guys recommend then ? my goal is to lower the car without sacraficing too much comfort. with that in mind, should i go with Koni or Bilstein ? as for the springs what is the difference in terms of stiffness between H&R sports and Eibach prokit ? I know the Bilstein HD is designed for OEM springs, but will aftermarket work ?

The only difference in Bilstein HD and non HD is that the HD is made for OEM springs. It's the exact same specs, just made for OEM springs.
Eibach makes a sway kit for the I6's, too I think. Check the Tire Rack forum.
