One- For some reason on my dash display showing the car doors that are open... it has a picture of a red light behind the car by the right side brake light. i assume thats signalling that the light is out. i get out and look and all tail lights are working. what is making this display show that the light isnt working?

two- can someone explain how to take the side view mirror off (just the glass part)??

thanks. you guys are awesome

This is all on my 1998 528i by the way.

The warning light on the dash could indicate that the third brake light is burnt out.
I already went through the same thing.

To remove the side view mirror glass, insert a paint stirrer or other flat edged tool between the bottom edge of the mirror glass and mirror housing and pry off the glass. The glass is held in place by snap in clips.

Hope this helps....JL
