Anybody Ever Use A Transport Service?

I'm moving from New York to LA and I'm looking for a reputable auto transport company to my my 06' 530i.

Has anyone used an auto transport service in the past? If so, please submit your feedback - GOOD or BAD -

Thanks in advance!

I've used Horseless Carriage several times to transport my Porsches, with great results. Intercity Lines also has a great reputation. Whatever you do, don't skimp on this. Only use a top tier carrier, one that has true fully enclosed trailers (solid sides and bottom), and doesn't use subcontractors. You want your car to go on the trailer and not come off until it's delivered to you. And request a top load, so you don't risk anything falling/dripping on your car.

And stay--far away--from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS).

Thanks for the feedback. I have heard the same about DAS. Have you heard anything about Fedex Passport?

I don't have any first hand experience with them, but I have heard good things, and they are a Barrett-Jackson preferred carrier:

If it were me, I'd go with Horseless Carriage or Intercity Lines, unless there was a scheduling issue.

I went online and used one of those brokerage services to find a ride for an old Jeep we had. I would not recommend this route, go with a trusted carrier. First they didn't show up on their first scheduled pick up date, then they didn't show up on their second date and they were late on the third date. Once they picked it up it was ok except they did not deliver it door to door because they could not find the address. How hard is it to find an address in todays day and age??? I guess they have never heard of google maps or anything like that. So we had to travel about 20 miles to meet them. We got screwed! Lucky they refunded some of the money back to us.

Bottom line this route was a PITA. It might have saved us some $$ in the long run but it was a pain. We were not in any time crunch so the missed dates did not matter, but it didn't leave use with an easy feeling either.

Sorry I can't recommend any. Sounds like a couple of reputable ones have already been thrown out there though.
