 Leasing Input -- Advice Appreciated!

I'm negotiating to order a 2007 530xi wagon.

I'm wondering if anyone knows and will post the residual values and money factor rates from BMW's leasing program (whole range) for the 2007 530xi wagon. It looks like the residuals are higher on the 3 series for 2007 than what one dealer has told me for the residual for a 5 series wagon -- 60%.

I want to make sure that the dealer(s) doesn't give me a break on one part of the deal, only to take it away somewhere else on the contract.

Any advice is much appreciated!

BMWFS money factors & residuals are here:

Here's a lease calculator spreadsheet I posted a while back:

I was under the impression that the lease rates changed in March for the 2007 models. Do you know anything about this?

Edited to add: Thanks for posting your leasing calculator example. It helps to be able to see exactly how BMW calculates their leases.
I believe BMW changes their lease rates in the first week of the month, so it could be they haven't released the March rates yet, or they'd be posted here.

Since there are so many moving pieces with leasing, and lots of dealers play a shell game with leasing, it's useful to have something to help you keep track of all the variables.

I know you plan to lease but always, always negotiate the price of the car irrespective of how you plan to buy it. Get a final, concrete number and then work from there as to however you plan to finance it (cash, lease, loan, etc.).

One note for leasing: the acquisition fee. The minimum is $625 but BMWFS allows dealers to bump this fee to a max of $825. Just keep that in mind.

Also, dealers can play with the MF.

However, BMWFS sets the residuals and those are non-negotiable and the same for everyone.

Finally, you may or may not have to have a security deposit with BMWFS. Should be $725 (well, it was for my 545i lease).

I guess I'm trying to find out how much they are messing with the Money Factor and acquisition fee.

Right now for a 36-month lease, with a 2250 mileage penalty (20K/annual) and a negotated sale price of $57,300, I'm getting a .00235 money factor, which they say will drop to .00186 with the maximum of 6 security deposits.

The price is for a 2007 530xi wagon
metallic paint
automatic transmission
rear door airbags
comfort seats (maybe sports package but almost same price)
Nav system
heated rear seats
premium package
cold weather package

destination charge of $695
acquisition fee of $825 + $41.25 tax
reg fee $166.59

I know the destination charge is standard, is the acquisition fee and reg. fee within the normal range? Is the destination charge the same as the acquisition fee? Do all dealers charge a registration fee?

Any opinions -- is this a fair to decent deal?

I know not comparing apples to apples, but I just leased a 2006 530XiT Auto, Prem, Cold Weather, Side Shades MSRP $56,620, Invoice $51,820

Net Cap $52,048 ($228 over invoice)
24 Months/15k miles annual
Residual 72%
Money Factor .0010
Monthly Payment $599
Bank Fee $781.00
No Security Deposit (I negotiated off)

Total paid for 24 months $14,376

All information I obtained was through this wonderful website. I even printed out the Lease Rates and Price Sheets for negotiations. I phoned 7 dealers in the area - working together, they got the best deal for me.

FYI - this deal works out $11 more per month than the 325XiT I was originally going to get.

Have fun!
