I had a blast getting into work this morning. I don't know where this snowstorm came from (maybe I should check the weather more often), but when I got up this morning there was snow and ice on the ground and the snow is really coming down in the Boston area. Yea!! I finally get to test my AWD w/ snow tires!!
It's about a 20 mile drive to work, mostly back roads through Dedham, West Roxbury, Brookline, Newton and Watertown (for those familiar with the area). So off I go. Of course, I occasionally got slowed down behind folks who were spinning their wheels, but the trip was way too much fun. I kept the speed reasonable, as I didn't want to be one of those "jerks" who I used to swear at when they went flying by me in the snow in their AWD, but it was really hard not to enjoy every mile! Plus, as I was coming up to areas with a lot of traffic or where folks were stuck on the hills, I zoomed out the NAV and looked for connecting streets to drive around the traffic, so I actually ended up on even more unplowed side-streets and hills then I normally would. The car was flawless in the snow.
Just thought I'd share - it was just one of those little things that make life fun!!
